Our Commitment

Vaccine Standby (vaxstandby.com) will collect the minimal amount of data about its users to provide an effective and valuable service. We will never monetize personally identifiable information. We do not host or display any advertisements on our website, nor serve any trackers for any advertisement purpose. We will handle, store, and use your personal information securely and responsibly. As much as possible, we will respect and respond to your privacy requests.

In short, and in plain English, Vaccination Standby does not explicitly use, transfer, sell, or monetize any collected personal information for any commercial purposes outside of Vaccination Standby. To better understand our audience and to monitor for errors, the only means of passive data collection we employ is cookie-less analytics provided by third-party providers. Our relationships with these providers are detailed below.

We do not employ any user login system or payment integration. Thus, we do not store any passwords or tokens from other services with highly-sensitive information.

Vaccination Standby is a statically-generated site. With the exception of serving browser-specified preferences such as preferred language and font size, our service is largely the same across users.

Who we are

Vaccination Standby is a project, 100% independently owned by Jimmy Chion and Ian Macartney, both individual persons. Vaccination Standby has no affiliation with any business entities, nor any obligations or debts – implicit or explicit – to any persons or entities. (Publicly available services rendered by third-party providers are not considered obligations or debts).

Vaccination Standby respects the Do Not Track header supplied by modern browsers. Currently, our website, https://vaxstandby.com (and any of its subdomains) does not serve any cookies. Our analytics platform, Fathom Analytics, respects the DNT header. Should we change our Cookie Policy, we are committed to respecting the DNT header.

Vaccination Standby does not serve any cookies. We are committed to privacy, and this is intentional. If this changes, we may update this section without advance notice or notification, at our sole discretion.

Again, we will never share any of our users' personal information with a vaccination provider.
If you are a vaccination provider offering information regarding extra doses of COVID vaccine, we may record additional data including your location, your phone number, photos requested and submitted, additional information necessary to fulfill our service.

The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) provides rights to all California residents with respect to the data that a company holds about them. For example, you have the right, as a California resident, to know “what personal information [a company has] collected, used, shared, or sold about you,” and why they did so. Please read more about it at https://oag.ca.gov/privacy/ccpa.

In essence, you have a right to know what personal information a company has collected on you, the right to delete that information, and the right to opt-out of any “sale” of that information. And finally, you are protected from discrimination by said company should you exercise any of these rights.

CCPA does not explicitly apply to because we are not a for-profit company that makes more than $25 million a year or have received more than 50,000 California residents' personal information. However, because we care about privacy, and we will voluntarily comply with CCPA requests in a timely manner. To send a request, please email hello@vaxstandby.com
